Lately... (part 1)

A Sincere Friend

Since we are leaving on Wednesday, I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with Rachelle. She is like a sister to me. I would like to thank my wonderful husband Phillip for allowing me to say good-bye. Rachelle and I don't really talk about me leaving b/c it's just too hard, she has good friends out here and I know that she will be taken care of. I would like to take this moment to say thank you to her.
Wachelle, you are an amazing person and I love you dearly. You are like a sister to me and I appreciate everything that you have done for me and my family. I pray that you may be able to meet that special someone that deserves you! You may be wondering what you have ACTUALLY done for us, here are just a couple things...
-Taught me how to become a better mother (you know what I mean, you and your social worker skills)
-You are soo close to my family that I am proud to have my kids call you Tia Rachelle (I know it's not something you have done, but over all that is why they call you Tia Rachelle.)
-You taught kai to say Ow! Ow!
-You play with my kiddos when I am way too tired
-You help me watch them when I am at the store
-You always have good ideas in regards to helping me solve my problems
-You spent so many minutes on us when you were calling the cemeteries for prices and stuff
-You basically planned Clementines funeral for us
-You were with me through that really hard time
-You stood by me when I complained and cried and felt so alone
-you helped my relationship with Dan
-AND B/C OF YOU, I AM THE HAPPY PERSON THAT I AM TODAY!
Thanks!

So many more things that I can't think of right now. Sorry!

Insects watching a movie

Last Tuesday I went to the movies with Rachelle. We watched Marley and Me, I really enjoyed this movie. So much that I would buy it, Rachelle didn't think that much of it, I guess she wasn't paying much attention to it b/c she was freaked out about something that had bit her. :( What happened? Well, we were sitting there enjoying the movie, all of the sudden she starts telling me that something is crawling up her leg (she was wearing jeans with toe covered shoes, I was wearing capris with flip flops). I didn't pay much attention, I just thought she was making a big deal out of nothing. I keep watching the movie while she is bend over doing something to her leg ( I think she was trying to get it out of her pants leg). Well, anywho...she ended up squishing "something" in her pants and that was pretty gross right? Yes! She rolled up her jeans to about mid calve and just left it there, of course she was still freaked out. When the movie was over we waited till the lights came back on so that we could se what it was. We could see squished guts of some type of insect on her jeans. GROSS! As we started looking around us to see if we could find the dead evil thing we found about 5-6 more of those things. They kind of looked like crickets, but I was convinced that they were not. They looked white and they did not jump or anything, they were just crawling around. We complained! The manager gave us a "refund", not really though. Two tickets to go back and not have to pay anything. WHO in their RIGHT mind would go back? I sure wouldn't! And it didn't even happen to me. Thank goodness, I am now leaving to Florida where there are more dangerous insects and animals!

Mt. Timp Temple and Hike

Rachelle and I went to the Mt. Timp Temple on Saturday. We were supposed to make the 2:30 pm session, of course we didn't. When we finally got to the parking lot we had 4 minutes to go in, het changed and got to the Chapel. We thought, "ok, well we can make it to the 3pm session. Did it happen? NOPE! There were like 5 people getting endowed at that same hour and so they had to go first, not only that but their famalies went first too. So we waited half an hour to make it to the 3pm session but again did not. We finally made it to the 3:30 pm session. It was great!
Initially we wanted to to be out by 5 so that we could go to the festival of colors, but we didn't make it out on time as you already read. DaN dropped off the kids with one of our hometeaching famalies and he waited almost a whole hour for us to come home. Well, since it was too late to go, we wend up to the Provo Canyon. It took forever! DaN took us (me, Rachelle) to some place his brother Ben had taken him before. It was very pretty! But it took a long time. We took a couple pictues. Enjoy!
(well, I am having a hard time uploading the pics, they will be up soon.)

Lately.....(part 2)

So... these last couple of days or should we say weeks have been very busy. Two weeks ago we started packing, it seems like we have gotten to the point where we can't pack anymore. Good thing tomorrow is the day we go pick up the truck, we can finally start loading the truck, getting things out of the way in order to clean. We told our landlord that we would paint the rooms. You should have seen them before, they were full of crayon, pencil and pen marks all over the walls. Thank goodness for a wonderful husband like DaN DaN; he cleaned with the amazing Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! Those things are AWESOME! Anywho, here is a pic. of DaN painting the kids bedroom. Doesn't he look cute?

Last week my good friend Dulce took me out for lunch...as a graduatin gift. I really enjoy being with Dulce, she is such a great person! I really admire her. She took me to, well, I don't remember the name of the restraunt but afterwards we went to Los Hermanos to have dessert. Can you guess what we had? FRIED ICECREAM! WooHOO! She had never had it so I told her that she needed to try it. Doesn't it look delicious? Ok, so here is a pictue of Dulce and Me. I will miss Dulce dearly when we leave...:(

okie dokie, a couple Sundays ago, I decided to try out Jamie's Sugar Cookies (Jamie is a girl from school, she made these really super soft sugar cookies) the secret is buttermilk. Here is the recipe:

Cookie Dough
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of crisco
3 eggs
4 cups of flour
1 cup of buttermilk
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. of baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. of baking powder
1/2 tsp. of salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients.
Roll out and cut (use more flour for this).
Bake for 8-10 minutes

There are many frosting recipes out there, pick the one YOU like!

The kids and I had tons of fun doing this.

Kai and Ani
Mixing the ingredients

Kai says "cheese"
Kai "rolling" out the dough

Ani rolling out dough
Ani cutting out the dough

The finished product
Enjoy!
