BYE
This past week was a good week overall. Kai finally said his third word. He has been saying Papa for a while ( he says it all the time), and he says Mama everyone once in a while (usually when he really wants my attention or is very desperate). When he says bye though it sounds more like Ba and he waves with his hand.
Kai surprised me yesterday. We (Ani, Kai, and me) went into the chapel at church and sat down. Kai sat on one side and Ani on the other. Kai sat and crossed his hands for about one minute. I really believe he knew that we were at church and that he needed to quite down. The bad thing is he wasn't like that the whole time. It is a start, right? At least he is learning to be quiet and reverent at church.
He just started going into nursery in October. My calling at church is substitute nursery teacher, so whenever one of the teachers doesn't show up and they didn't call a substitute, I take their place. Right before October the teachers from that class got released and it took a while for new teachers to be called but until the new teachers got called I was the substitute teacher for about a month. Kai was with me those 4-5 Sundays. And I actually substituted for his class so he got pretty used to being in nursery. The first day I dropped him off by himself he cried a little, the rest of the time he was fine and has been since that day. Now I go drop him off and he just goes and plays. I am sooo happy I get to have some free time and that I get to go to Relief Society. Being away from the kids is like soul searching.
Dan bought a bunk bead this past summer. Now that we aren't going to have 3 children on earth for this moment I decided to get rid of the crib, maternity clothes and some other baby stuff that I gave to my sister in law. Kai had been sleeping in the crib still but I wanted to get rid of the crib and so I started putting him on the top bunk. We had done this before but he had fallen a couple times. He could get up there but just couldn't get down. I was worried he would keep falling and so we bought a bed rail (which says to not use on bunk beds, and I think a lot of people get them for that reason...to put on bunk beds), but I was still scared b/c one day he tried really hard to get down and he fell. I put the bunk down on the floor, at least until he is better at sleeping on a bed. He has beed doing pretty good. There is a problem though, he can open doors now and so he can just get up from bed and open the bedroom door and get out which makes it that much more tough to put him to bed. Dan has been doing a great job with him and he has been really patient with Kai. Kai now knows that he has a bed and that he needs to go to bed on it.
Primary Program
This past October was Ani's first primary program. We had worked soo hard on having her learn her part. She had gotten to the point to where she could say her part with a little help in the beginning. The Sunday finally came for the program and she didn't want to go up and sit with her class. Her teacher came and helped her... Ani just sat in her lap the whole time, Ani didn't even get up to sing. It was ok. I actually thought that she would say her part but when it was her turn, she kept nodding her head and pulling away from the teacher... the teacher went ahead and said Ani's part for her. She did get up to the pulpit so I was proud of her. It took so much courage to go up and just stare at people, tons of people just looking at her. She did great even though she didn't say anything. I know how scarey it is to be up there.

The Old Man
Today I went to Allen's to buy groceries. I was walking down the cereal isle and this old man was in the same isle, he had just picked up a bag of cereal. He started talking to me. He asked what kind of cereal the kids liked, and just started talking about random stuff. He told me that he had a son who was 50 years old... this mad me think, "dude how old are you?" Of course I didn't want to be rude and so I didn't ask. Besides being rude I didn't even know this man. He kept talking......he said he had thirty something great grand children and that several of his children spoke spanish. He also said that he took spanish and that his teacher was from Spain. I usually would try to get away from weird little men like that be he seemed to be nice and I just felt like talking to someone. Lately I have been soo worried about myself and what I want to dothat today for that small moment I wanted to forget about everything going on and just listen to someone else's life story, which is basically what it was. I did find out he was 93 years old, and no I didn't ask.
Psoas Work
Today at school we leared more about working trigger points (knots). We got the chance to work the psoas major. It hurts like Georgia! The psoas is a very strong hip flexor and is more superficial on the posterior side of the body, but it can only be worked through the anterior side. What does that mean? PAIN! I thought it felt very uncomfortable but well worth it b/c it helps a lot with lowerback pain. Well not too long ago I started feeling pain in my lower back. More than before. Actually, as I think about it I din't have low back pain. Now I do. Which is weird b/c it is supposed to take it away not bring the pain. I just think my body wasn't ready for that type of work. Having the spinal tab had a lot to do with it, I think. It hurts really bad. On a scale of 1-10, about 7.5. I should probabily lie down.
